Physiotherapy
For those who need a little extra care, Spring Pilates provides physiotherapy services on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
Physiotherapy is a treatment designed to help restore the body to healthy functioning after injury, surgery, childbearing, or degenerative processes such as arthritis. Various methods are used, such as massage, stretching, and exercise therapy.
About our Physios
Our principal practitioner, Bride King, is a highly experienced physiotherapist, with experience in both public and private practice. She is an APMA qualified Pilates instructor and therefore incorporates both exercise therapy and hands-on work into her practice. As a former elite athlete herself, Bride understands the impact of sporting activities on the body, and specializes in both rehabilitation, and specific conditioning.
Since September 2010, Spring Pilates has welcomed the magic hands of Xanthe McLean to the physiotherapy team. Xanthe is currently working independently whilst Bride is on maternity leave but will work together with Bride when she returns mid 2011. Xanthe comes to Spring from a variety of other private practices focusing on rehabilitation of sporting injuries and effective treatment of neck and back issues. Working alongside orthopaedic specialists she has developed a special interest in knee and shoulder rehabilitation. Xanthe combines hands-on therapy and exercise rehabilitation and attends regular training courses to keep in touch with the latest developments in the industry. Her treatment philosophy is to treat the cause not just the symptoms. Outside work, Xanthe is a keen long-distance runner and swimmer.
